Preparing for Rome

Oh Rome…sweet, sweet Rome…how I love thee!  Let me tell you…Rome is one of the trips we’ll remember forever…vividly.  For so long we had heard that Rome was a busy city and that we really should plan our trip out as much as possible, so we started well in advance and covered as much as we could.

I was particularly excited about Rome as I have always loved Roman history so the idea of being able to experience all of it for myself was really exciting!  My wife was mega-excited since she’s always been very devoted to our Catholic roots…plus, well don’t tell her I said so, but she’s Italian and is…very “fond” of said culture’s cuisine.  J  Oh, and she has a thing or two (or several hundred) for Italian fashion, bags, shoes, etc.

Anyway, our first dilemma was trying to choose the best hotel to stay in for our money and needs. Thankfully, I saw that Royal Holiday had 3 hotel options in Rome…though they were all pretty tempting to be honest. We eventually called up Royal Holiday and simply asked for their advice…they were actually quite helpful despite how silly we probably sounded.

After we called Royal Holiday…our uncertainty (or as we kept referring to it, our “Hamlet-ing”) was gone…they helped us so well and our cust service rep was so helpful!  He explained the advantages of each of the 3 hotels (which was really cool btw) and even sent us a map for us to see where each was in correlation to many of the hot tourist spots. We decided to stay at the Mayfair Residence…best decision!!
